The Department of Chemistry is the one of the oldest science department of the college. At beginning, only B.Sc General degree course was offered in the department. The Honours curriculum started functioning from the year 2004. At present B.Sc (honours and general) courses according to Choice Based Credit System and B.Sc (Major and Minor) courses according to National Educational Policy 2020 are being offered. The department is situated at the 2nd floor of the main building and is equipped with class-rooms, computer room, laboratories. At present the department has four full-time faculty members (Three associate Professors and One Assistant Professor). The students are trained to develop their skills in modern-edge chemical technologies to cope-up both in higher studies and industries. Most of the outgoing students every year; find their places in M.Sc and B.Tech courses in different reputed institutes all over India.
