This has opened up many possibilities for microbiologists to pursue both researches based and non-research-based careers in the field of microbiology thus widening the scope of microbiology and its future prospects.

Since after the establishment of the Department of Microbiology in Hooghly Women’s College in 2006, it has glorified the institute in each and every field. In academic, cultural and social events, this department has added feathers to the college. Students from this department has secured rank as well as topped in university examinations, achieved positions in other Universities, snatched prizes in different events like quiz, essay and drawing competitions, exhibitions, sports etc.
